Authors To The Pointe Tickets

Tickets for our annual fall author luncheon go on sale at 10am on Saturday, September 8th at all three branches. Tickets must be purchased in-person and are $30 each, payable by cash or check. Limit 4 tickets per person.

Event Details

Authors To The Pointe 2018 will be held on Saturday, October 6th in the Crystal Ballroom of The War Memorial. The luncheon begins at noon, with author talks and book signings to follow. Seating is first-come, first-served and the Ballroom doors open at 11:30am. A cash bar will be available during the event. Authors to The Pointe is presented by the Grosse Pointe Public Library, with assistance from The Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library.

Our Authors

Jane Smiley is the internationally acclaimed author of more than three-dozen books for adults and children, including The Age of Grief, Some Luck, Horse Heaven, and the Pulitzer Prize winning A Thousand AcresShanthi Sekaran is the author of Lucky Boy, a novel about the immigrant experience in America which topped numerous 2017 “Best Of” lists, including NPR’s Best Book of 2017. Grosse Pointe’s own Karen Dybis, a veteran journalist and author, has written four popular non-fiction books about Metro-Detroit, including Better Made in Michigan and The Witch of Delray.
