HOW DO I…
Using the electronic catalog,
narrow your choice of material by clicking on the blue underlined title until
the computer displays just ONE title with the call numbers and locations of the
particular item you wish to reserve.
At the top of the screen,
click on the "Request" button.
Fill in your last name and your library barcode in the available fields.
Choose a location where you
would like to pick up you material.
Click the "Submit" button.
When the return screen says your submission has been successful, you
will receive a call or email to let you know when your item is ready for
pick-up.
As a Grosse Pointe resident
or student at one of the Grosse Pointe public or private schools, you are
entitled to a free library card.
Students receive their cards
at their school library.
Adults should bring a valid
Michigan Driver's License or State Identification card to any library branch.
The staff at the circulation
desk will issue a card.
Replacement for lost cards are
$1.00.
Non-residents may purchase a library card that includes computer and borrowing privileges for $200.00 / year.
Non-residents may use library materials
in-house or use the computer for one hour /day at no charge with a valid photo
ID.
Library cards expire 1
year after their initial issue date.
You must bring your valid
Michigan Driver's License or State ID card to the circulation desk of any branch to
renew your card. We regret the library cannot renew cards by
telephone.

describes which subscription database sites are accessible from home. Use the "click here" link and fill
in your last name and barcode to view the passwords needed for access.
