Preschool Hours: 8:00 am to 11:30 am (Part Day), 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm (Part Day)  OR  8:00 am -4:30 pm (Full Day)

Program Description

Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency’s Head Start program is a federally funded, preschool program for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years old. Wayne Metro Head Start is a comprehensive family program designed to meet the needs of the entire family. The program serves income-eligible families residing in the communities of all the Grosse Pointes, Harper Woods, Hamtramck and Highland Park.

Fees

Free for families that meet federal income guidelines. Some over-income families accepted.

Waiting List Policy

Registration is ongoing throughout the school year. As soon as a space is available, families on the waiting list are contacted. While on the waiting list, families are still invited to participate in family literacy events and special activities that the program provides.

Regularly scheduled Family Literacy events, Fatherhood events, Nutrition & Cooking Classes, Youth Mentoring Program, Cultural Awareness Event, Mobile Dentist, Mental Health Observations & Consultations, Community Readers, Bonus Bucks Action
