The OLSOS early childhood curriculum is designed to help each child develop a realistic and positive self-image. Each child is made to feel special. Social skills are developed through specific play areas, songs, group sharing, and language activities. Physical development is realized through craft and art projects, indoor and outdoor play equipment, dance and exercise, manipulative toys, and sand and water tables. The “Handwriting Without Tears” program is used to promote fine motor development. The four year olds attend gym and library weekly and participate in the Big Brother/Big Sister program with 5th Grade students. An enriching and age appropriate religion series is also a part of the four year old curriculum. The successful experiences the children have will build their confidence and self-esteem, preparing them for kindergarten and life.
