Summer Reading Programs for All Ages

Books StackSummer is almost here and here at GPPL, that means Summer Reading isn’t far behind!  All three of our traditional reading programs are back, for children, teens, and adults:

FIZZ BOOM READ!  Summer Reading Club is open to children from birth to 12 years of age.  Sign up online or in person at the library.  This is your chance to earn prizes for reading all summer long!

SPARK A REACTION! Teen Summer Reading for ages 13-18. Read every week, take the challenges, and log your time to enter prize drawings throughout the summer. Read at least 15 hours by August 15th to be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing!

LITERARY ELEMENTS The Adult Summer Reading Program is open to adults ages 18 and older.  Read all summer long! Visit your GPPL branch library to check out reading materials!  Sign up online and  log on to record your books. Review and recommend titles. Weekly Prizes! Grand Prize – Gift Certificate to the Hill Restaurant! Happy Reading!

Registration for all three Summer Reading Programs opens Friday, June 13th. Click here for details and to start your online reading log:

In addition to our usual Summer Reading Programs, we are pleased to add a new reading program for Summer 2014: the LEVEL UP CLUB provides children in grades 4 through 6 to take their summer reading to the next level by reading Classic and Award-Winning books, and by participating in three classics-related events. Registration is in-person only, at all three branches. Contact Vickey Bloom or Kate DeMeester at 313-343-2325 for more information.
