The Widow’s House by Carol Goodman

The Widow’s House by Carol Goodman

Is Riven House haunted? Or is something more sinister going on? Clare returns to her hometown as caretaker for Riven House with her writer husband in hopes that they can save their marriage and write more. But the past intrudes creating inspiration, conflict, and the unpleasant unfolding of family history. At times a bit melodramatic and coincidental, but very well written and engaging, Goodman knows how to spin a spooky and engrossing Gothic tale. At the end of the book, she lists her favorite scary stories.
